This Privacy Policy explains how AxionSite Pty Ltd trading as Poseidon Watch (ABN: 73 698 423 442) (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with the Poseidon Watch platform, website, and demonstration environments (together, the “Service”). We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, where applicable to overseas customers, the EU/UK GDPR.

1. Information we collect

Website and account information

• Contact details you provide (such as name, email, organisation, and role);
• Login and access records for gated areas such as the demonstration environment;
• Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited (see our Cookie Policy).

Video and monitoring data (customer deployments)

• Video streams from cameras owned and operated by our customers are processed in real time to generate safety telemetry. Our architecture is designed to be zero-storage for video: footage is analysed in transit and is not retained as recorded video by the Service.
• Derived telemetry and event metadata — such as alert types, timestamps, zone identifiers, object counts, and response acknowledgements — is retained to provide alerting, audit logs, and service improvement.

In customer deployments, the facility operator controls the cameras and determines the purposes of surveillance at their premises. The operator is responsible for providing legally required signage and notices to patrons and staff, and for ensuring surveillance is lawful at their site. We process video on the operator’s behalf to deliver the Service.

2. Automated decision-making disclosure

The Service uses computer programs — including machine-learning computer vision models — to analyse video streams and to generate safety alerts. In the language of the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs 1.7–1.9), these programs do things that are substantially and directly related to making decisions that may significantly affect individuals, such as flagging a possible submersion, an unsupervised child, or a boundary breach for human review.

• Kinds of personal information used: real-time visual imagery of individuals in monitored areas, and derived characteristics such as position, posture, movement, and estimated age category. The Service does not perform facial recognition and does not identify individuals by name.
• Kinds of decisions assisted: whether to raise a safety alert for human verification. No decision with a significant effect on an individual is made solely by automation — every alert is designed to be verified and acted upon by trained personnel (human-in-the-loop).

3. How we use personal information

• To provide, operate, secure, and support the Service, including generating and routing safety alerts;
• To maintain audit logs and incident records for our customers’ compliance and safety reviews;
• To respond to enquiries and administer demonstration access;
• To improve the reliability and accuracy of the Service, using aggregated or de-identified telemetry;
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Disclosure of personal information

We may disclose personal information to:

• Our hosting and infrastructure providers, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations;
• The customer organisation that operates the monitored facility (for deployment data and audit logs);
• Professional advisers, regulators, or law enforcement where required or authorised by law.

Where data is processed or stored outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it consistently with the APPs and applicable data-transfer requirements.

5. Security

Video streams are encrypted in transit using industry-standard encryption (TLS with AES-256). Access to systems and telemetry is restricted to authorised personnel, and we maintain technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we encourage prompt reporting of any suspected vulnerability.

6. Retention

• Recorded video: not retained by the Service (zero-storage design);
• Event telemetry and audit logs: retained for the period agreed with the customer or as required by law;
• Website and account data: retained while your account or enquiry is active and as required by law.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. Where the GDPR applies, you may also have rights to erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
